Shally Vaid, LPC

Shally Vaid, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Virginia, Washington D.C., and Georgia, and is a National Certified Counselor. She is the founder and clinical director of Bright Path Therapy and Wellness Center. Shally holds a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology, Professional Counseling from Argosy University and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Georgia State University. She received specialized training completing her internship at Atlanta Psychiatry and Neurology where she provided individual, couples, family, and group counseling. She has more than 20 years of clinical experience in the mental health field. Alongside private practice, Shally teaches university-level courses in Psychology and Cultural Diversity.

While Shally’s clinical experience includes working with various populations, she has a passion for treating women and children. She specializes in treating women’s psychological and emotional issues and particularly has a deep connection and compassion for women who are facing challenges of pregnancy and motherhood. She has advanced training in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. Shally works closely with OBGYNs, psychiatrists, and family practitioners to provide comprehensive care for women. Shally’s specialized training includes perinatal mood disorders, fertility challenges, miscarriage and child loss, and birth trauma.

Over the years, Shally has focused on providing specialized therapy for professionals in positions of significant responsibility. Her practice is tailored to meet the unique needs of high-achieving individuals in demanding and leadership roles. She specializes in providing confidential and specialized support for those navigating the challenges inherent in executive positions, government service, healthcare, legal, and corporate leadership. Her approach is grounded in understanding the distinct pressures and complexities that accompany such roles, fostering a confidential and empathetic environment for meaningful exploration and growth.

Shally also focuses on treating children and adolescents with mental health and behavioral struggles. She has a natural affinity for children and teens and can easily connect with them. Shally provides a safe and nonjudgmental space for children and their families to overcome daily challenges and stressful life events. She works closely with parents and caregivers by providing parent coaching and skill building to enhance parent-child relationship.

Shally provides counseling services for college students as they navigate the different challenges college life brings. She has taught university-level courses for over 10 years and works well with this population. She is committed to helping students obtain the support and resources they need to improve their emotional well-being and accomplish their personal and academic goals.

Having traveled and lived in different countries, Shally has a passion for diversity and honors the traditions and religions from around the world. She is trained in various modalities and strongly believes in holistic counseling with an emphasis on mind-body connection. To Western psychotherapy techniques, she incorporates Eastern philosophies of mindfulness, meditation, and yoga to help her clients begin to heal and learn to live healthier, happier, and balanced lives. When Shally is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and their dogs Kammie and Kassie.
